The Internet is quite possibly the most effective medium for sales and marketing since the invention of the printing press. Auto and computer manufacturers, airlines, hospitals, bed and breakfasts, real estate firms and sporting goods stores all use Web sites to attract customers and increase sales.
Web demographics suggest that Internet users represent ideal customers for a wide variety of products. Today, more than 665 million people around the world have access to the Internet. That's a lot of potential customers, and the gender gap is almost invisible as 50% of users are women and 50% are men. Can you make money on the Internet? Absolutely. A new survey from Shop.org indicates that 56 percent of online retailers in the U.S. reported profits during 2002. Shoppers spent approximately $72 billion online last year!
In this presentation we'll take a look at the techniques that successfully move online users from browsers to buyers. We'll review the latest techniques in capturing and maintaining the attention of the online consumer. What are the unique relationships between offline and online strategies; how do you measure the effectiveness of online campaigns and how do you tie together advertising with your Web site? Case studies will demonstrate how small and large businesses have crafted online marketing strategies that work.
This presentation is designed to help companies and organizations understand critical issues related to computer security for themselves, their employees and their organizations.
Computer security impacts everyone! Every year 5,400 viruses are released on the Internet. A single virus like “Slammer” has rapid and significant impact. In just 15 minutes this virus took out cell phone service for 27 million people, forced 911 dispatchers to use paper and eliminated airline service from major hubs. Spam is reaching epidemic proportions as 52% of e-mail messages are now spam. Ferris Research estimates that spam alone will cost U.S. business $10 billion in 2003! These attacks result in lost productivity, lost revenues, lost data and additional expenses for individuals and organizations.
Participants learn about the most significant dangers and attacks that come from viruses, worms, e-mail spam, instant messaging and wireless computing. Case studies illustrate the serious damage, ranging from network shutdown and loss of valuable data to identity theft. We examine major risks including viruses, spam and hacking; and the effective security options for organizational and home cyber security. This seminar is educational and interactive with discussion among the participants.
