Ron Jaworski was drafted by Los Angeles in the second round of the 1973 draft. After spending four years with the Rams, he was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles in March of 1977. Under head coach Dick Vermeil and behind Jaworski’s leadership, the Eagles advanced to the NFC playoffs in 1978 and 1979. In 1980, Jaworski led the Eagles to a 12-4 record, the NFC Championship and their first-ever berth in a Super Bowl. He finished the 1980 season as the top-rated passer in the NFC, was named NFL MVP and selected to the Pro Bowl. Until the time Jaworski suffered a broken leg at Los Angeles during the 13th game of the 1984 season, he had started 116 straight NFL games, a record for most consecutive starts. Jaworski held that record until Brett Farve broke it in 1999. During his 10 years with the Eagles, Jaworski’s statistics include 28,190 passing yards and 179 touchdowns. He is the all-time Eagle leader in many passing categories, including career touchdowns and career passing yards. After becoming a free agent in March of 1987, Jaworksi was signed by the Miami Dolphins, where he played for two years. In 1989, he signed as a free agent with the Kansas City Chiefs and retired in 1990 after sustaining a season-ending knee injury. Today, Jaworski is a sought-after motivational speaker, bringing together the sports world and the business world with his enthusiasm and passion. He’s currently the color commentator for ESPN's Monday Night Football along with Mike Tirico & Tony Kornheiser. He’s received a number of accolades, including being inducted into the Eagles Honor Roll and Polish American Hall of Fame. He also received the Pinnacle Award, the Bert Bell Award and The United Way Volunteer Leadership Award.
