American sports journalist and commentator, Roy Firestone was born on December 8, 1953 in Miami Beach, Florida. is a commentator and sports journalist. Roy Firestone began his career and as a sports anchor and reporter in Miami, working briefly at WTVJ, before moving to Los Angeles as a sports anchor, from 1977 to 1985, for KCBS-TV. From 1980-90, he was the host of ESPN's SportsLook and was also the host of Up Close Prime Time.
In addition to being a journalist, Roy Firestone is also a critically-acclaimed performer. He has made appearances on the Late Show with David Letterman, Larry King Live, Super Dave Osborne and Nightline.
He has also performed for numerous corporate clients including Anheuser Busch, Chevron, Nike and Toyota. Roy Firestone is one of America's most versatile talents. Roy entertains in a one-man show that celebrates sports and entertainment. Firestone has also done impressions of well-known sportscasters, such as Keith Jackson and Howard Cosell.
