American sports journalist and commentator, Roy Firestone was born on December 8, 1953 in Miami Beach, Florida. is a commentator and sports journalist. Roy Firestone began his career and as a sports anchor and reporter in Miami, working briefly at WTVJ, before moving to Los Angeles as a sports anchor, from 1977 to 1985, for KCBS-TV. From 1980-90, he was the host of ESPN's SportsLook and was also the host of Up Close Prime Time.

In addition to being a journalist, Roy Firestone is also a critically-acclaimed performer. He has made appearances on the Late Show with David Letterman, Larry King Live, Super Dave Osborne and Nightline.
