American Idol has gone through some major adjustments these days, ever since Simon Cowell left and Simon Lythgoe returned as the show’s executive producer.
Ellen DeGeneris announced Thursday that she wanted to be let out of her contract and apparently Kara DioGuardi has been fired.
The decision to go back to a three panel judge format is the correct one and is long overdue. Ever since American Idol went to a four judge panel, less time was given to the performances of the contestants and too much time to the judges.
Whether American Idol has the right judge mix remains to be seen.
