Looking for a well-known sports speaker that fills seats and captivates audiences? A speaker who inspires, motivates and entertains? If so, you should hire Bo Jackson, one of the greatest athletes of our time for your next event. Just ask the people of Huntsville, Alabama, where booking agent, PFP Sports & Celebrity Talent, recently booked Bo for a fundraising event.

Bo Jackson is a popular motivational speaker and one of the greatest athletes of our time.
Bo Jackson, born in Bessemer, Alabama on November 30, 1962, was the eighth of ten children. Today he is one of the most popular motivational speakers at PFP Sports and Talent Agency.
The New York Yankees selected Bo in the 1982 MLB draft but he instead chose to attend Auburn University, where he became one of the greatest athletes ever to play in the Southeastern Conference, starring in both baseball and football and winning the 1985 Heisman Trophy.
Bo was selected in the NFL draft in 1986 by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, asked by the Bucs to choose between baseball and football, Bo chose to sign with the Kansas City Royals, who allowed him to play football in the off-season.
Among his achievements in baseball…
- AL All-Star (1989)
- 1989 All-Star Game MVP
- 1993 AL Comeback Player of the Year Award
- 20-Home Run Seasons: 4 (1987–1990)
- 30-Home Run Seasons: 1 (1989)
- 100 RBI Seasons: 1 (1989)
During his four-year NFL career, Bo Jackson rushed for 2,782 yards and 16 touchdowns with an average yards per carry of 5.4. He also caught 40 passes for 352 yards and two touchdowns. Bo’s 229 yards on November 30, 1987, just 29 days after his first NFL carry, is still a Monday Night Football record.
Bo became known as more than just a talented athlete. in 1989, he starred in Nike’s “Bo Knows” campaign, a series of advertisements by Nike that starred Jackson alongside Rock and Roll Hall of Fame musician Bo Diddley, promoting a cross-training athletic shoe named for Jackson. As a result of the ad, Bo became a household name and achieved legendary status for his athletic prowess.
Bo’s career took a downturn on January 13, 1991, when during a Raiders playoff game against the Cincinnati Bengals, Bo suffered a serious hip injury while being tackled by linebacker Kevin Walker. The injury ended his football career and seriously threatened his baseball career.
Following hip replacement surgery and rehabilitation on his injured hip, it was discovered that Bo had avascular necrosis. This caused deterioration of the femoral head, ultimately requiring that the hip be replaced. Amazingly, Bo was able to return to baseball toward the end of the 1991 season but never regained the speed in which he was famous. He bounced around to a few different teams over the next couple of years before retiring in 1994.
Upon his retirement, Bo completed his bachelor of science degree at Auburn to fulfill the promise he made to his mother. Through the 1990s, Bo dabbled in acting. In 2007, Bo opened the Jackson Elite Sports Complex, an 88,000-square-foot multi-sports dome facility in Lockport, Illinois. He is part-owner and CEO of the facility.
Bo is also currently among a group of investors who own The Burr Ridge Bank and Trust in the Chicago suburbs where he lives.
