Olympic Gold Medalist and cancer survivor, Shannon Miller, who was part of the U.S. women’s gymnastics team that won the gold in the team competition at the 1996 Summer Olympics, remains a popular motivational and cancer speaker on the circuit today.

Shannon Miller is a popular cancer speaker says PFP Sports and Celebrity Talent Agency. Since her diagnosis of ovarian cancer in early 2011, Shannon uses her cancer survival to educate women.
Miller received 16 Olympic or World Championship medals, including seven golds, but her biggest accomplishment has been that of cancer survivor. Miller underwent surgery early last year to remove a germ cell tumor, a form of ovarian cancer, followed by chemotherapy from March to May. Today Shannon is using her cancer survival to educate women. PFP Sports and Celebrity Talent Agency receives numerous inquires for Shannon Miller speaker info.
In an article at Herald.net, Miller said about her cancer, “I was lucky because they caught the tumor very early, but they also said that with chemotherapy I’d have a 99 percent chance of non-reoccurrence. And when you’re talking about cancer, 99 percent is a pretty good number.”
Today Miller says, “I feel great. My energy’s back and my prognosis is very good. I’m cancer free and doing well.”… “Maybe I don’t look or sound like the typical person that might get cancer, although I don’t know what that type is because there is no type. Cancer doesn’t care how many medals you have.”
“I want people to know that it can happen at any point, so you need to get your screenings, get your exams. Because if it’s detected early, you have so many more choices.”
“The positive attitude and the belief that you’re going to succeed are so important,” she said.
