Voices of Glory America's Got Talent

Voices of Glory, the young, inspirational brother and sister singing group, performed last night on America’s Got Talent Semi Finals.

The 11 year old sister is the true star of the group, but their harmonies and message are truly inspirational.

I believe they will move onto the finals.

Grandma Lee America's Got Talent

Grandma Lee performs in the first semifinal round of America’s Got talent.

Grandma Lee, who is 75 years old, writes her own material and  perfoms with perfect comic timing.

Grandma Lee reminds me of the legendary  comic Jackie Moms Mabley.

She had everyone in the audience, the judges and including me laughing out loud.

The audience gave her a rousing standing ovation.

Piers, Sharon and the Hoff all love her.

After last night’s performance which wowed the audience and judges, Grandma Lee has a great chance of moving on to the finals.

In fact, expect to see Grandma Lee to be in the top four chosen for the finals along with Kevin Skinner, Acrodunk and Voices of Glory. Those are my 4 picks to go through from last night.

Acrodunk perform on Amerixa's Got Talent Semi Finals

Acrodunk performed last night on the semi finals of America’s Got Talent. They have been compared to the legendary Harlem Globetrotters only with a new twist.  Their tumbling ability, amazing acrobatics, jumping through fire and dunking basketballs could win them a coveted spot in the finals.

Piers commented, “Absolutely unbeievable. I can’t believe I just watched that. That has to be one of the most thrilling, exciting, dynamic, dangerous things I’ve ever seen on this show.”

Kevin Skinner on America's Got Talent Semi Finals

Kevin Skinner competed in last night’s Semi Finals of America’s Got Talent, dedicating Willie Nelson’s version of Always on My Mind to his father.

Kevin Skinner is the type of story Americas loves. A natural born singer, a chicken catcher, who finds himself in front of millions singing from the heart with a chance to win $1M dollars and to headline Las Vegas.

Every song Kevin sings is heartfelt and emotional, completely raw and sung from the soul.

After Kevin’s performance, Piers Morgan gave Kevin a standing ovation.

Piers said. “You have an ability to move an audience in a way I have never seen on this show before. You sing from your heart, your soul, with real raw emotion and it is impossible to remember sometimes that you’re a chicken farmer from Kentucky who’s never sung on this kind of stage. Let me tell you after that, you are my favorite to win this whole competition!”

Barbara Padilla America's Got Talent

Barbara Padilla, a housewife and 10 year cancer survivor, is living her dream.

During week 10 of America’s Got Talent, Barbara sings Time To Say Goodbye a duet made famous by Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman.

Barbara’s performance was beautiful and professional, wowing not only the judges but the viewing audience as well.

When the performance was over, the judges gave Barbara a standing ovation!

Host Nick Cannon said, “Truly, truly amazing!”

America’s Got Talent, Lawrence Beamen (Beaman) showed a softer side to his singing voice when he sang the sultry “You Are So Beautiful”

I am a big fan of Lawrence and I have said in my previous post that he has the best voice on the show. However, this song choice in my opinion did not match the power of his first audition when he sang “Ol Man River”

It is all about song choice, so Lawrence in my opinion needs to pick a better song to show his range and power.

I’d like to hear him sing “A Change is Gonna  Come” or “A Song for You” by Donny Hathaway.

The judges all loved his performance and gave him rave reviews.

Sharon said that it was smooth as velvet.

The Hoff said he felt sorry for the rest of the competition.

Piers said that of all the singers that have auditioned on the show he is a rare talent calling him the new Barry White.

8/11/2009 – Paradizo (Paradiso) Dance, from Brooklyn New York, performed Tuesday night with the hopes of moving into the Semi Finale, Top 20. Not only are they amazing and beautiful to watch but they are genuinely in love.

I think they could easily have a shot at winning the entire competition this year.

Drew Thomas Magic may be the best magic act to ever appear on America’s Got Talent. Each time I have seen Drew Thomas Magic on America’s Got talent I’ve been impressed. Both times I was amazed and could not figure out how they  did it. They are totally entertaining and could have a shot at winning the competition this year.

Kevin Skinner gave another heartfelt performance on America’s Got Talent, singing Garth Brook’s version of To Make You Feel My Love, written by Bob Dylan. Kris Allen sang this on American Idol.

Lawrence Beamen

Lawrence Beaman makes his first appearance on America’s Got Talent 2009 singing Ol’ Man River from the musical Showboat. Lawrence has a bass solo voice which we do not hear too often. The quality of his voice and his passionate perfomance are amazing. Lawrence is a true talent.

“Ol’ Man River” is a song from the 1927 musical Show Boat written by Jerome Kerns and Oscar Hammerstein II, that contrasts African American hardship and struggles of the time with the endless, uncaring flow of the Mississippi River, from the view of a dock worker on a showboat.

It is the most famous song from the show. It is sung complete, once, by the dock worker “Joe” who travels with the boat, and is re-sung three times more in brief reprises.

Lawrence Beamen (Beaman) could very easily win the entire competition.  He is by far the best singer in the competiton. He has the professionalism, charisma and the talent to carry a complete Las Vegas show.
