WASHINGTON – U.S. District Judge Reggie Walton just declared a mistrial in the perjury cased against former Astros pitcher Roger Clemens after prosecutors allowed jurors to see evidence deemed inadmissible by the judge.

The mistrial was triggered when a video screen displaying comments from Congressman Elijah Cummings at a House hearing, in which Cummings seemed to indicate Clemens was lying when he denied using HGH or steroids, was left on while the lawyers had a private conversation with the judge. ... The Los Angeles Dodgers filed for protection under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code in Delaware Monday, blaming Major League Baseball for refusing to approve a multibillion-dollar TV deal that owner Frank McCourt was counting on to keep the troubled team afloat.

Baseball legend Harmon Killebrew died Tuesday on May 17 of esophageal cancer. Killebrew, 74, passed away peacefully at his home in Scottsdale, Ariz., with his family at his side, according to the Minnesota Twins, his team from 1961-1964.

The news came just days after the Hall of Famer told fans he was entering hospice.

Baseball legend, Yogi Berra, was taken to the hospital Thursday, March 10, after he tripped inside a clubhouse and fell on his backside before a Yankees spring training game. Berra is 85 years old.

The NY Yankees Hall of Famer caught his foot on a carpet at Bright House Field in Florida, according Yankees General Manager Brian Cashman who works as an “instructor” for the Yankees.

Cashman said that Yogi was smiling and joking after the accident and didn’t even want medical attention. Yogi however was taken to a nearby hospital for precautionary reasons.
