Shanna Goodhead, an 18-year-old student from East London, gave an emotional performance of Eva Cassidy’s version of Songbird, originally written and made famous by Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac.

This is one of my favorite songs and she does a great job, but no one sings it like Christine McVie. At the end of every Fleetwood Mac concert,  McVie would close with Songbird.

Shanna said: ‘I live in a council house in London with my mum and four sisters, I share a room with two of my sisters and my mum also shares a room with another of my little sisters. My singing will help me escape and give them something better, this could be the most important day of my life, I have to fulfil my dream and help me family.”

Judges comments:

Danni: You first came out and you were nervous, it seemed like you were sad.  I can see you want this badly, I want you to know how good you are at singing and how much these people love you.

Cheryl: You have got a really natural raw talent there. That was a great audition.

Louie: You’re only 18. You’ve got an incredible soulful voice. I don’t think you realize how good you are going to be. You have amazing potential and I’m really glad you came today.

Simon: You know Shanna look. I’m nervous about your self belief.

Judges give Shanna four yeses and she goes through.

At the end of the video Louie says, “She’s great! This girl is raw talent and she’s got the X Factor.”
