ST LOUIS, MO – It was a great ending for the the St. Louis Cardinals who beat the Texas Rangers 6-2 in game 7 to win the 2011 World Series baseball championship in St. Louis on Friday Oct. 28.

The Texas Rangers needed one final strike in the 9th and 10th innings Thursday night, Oct 27, in Game 6 of the World Series to win the championship, but it didn’t happen. Instead in the 11th inning St Louis Cardinals, David Freese hit a solo home run off pitcher Mark Lowe tying the series 3-3.
ARLINGTON, TX – Mike Napoli had an historic night in game 5 of the 2011 World Series. His tie breaking two run double in the eigth inning put the Texas Rangers in the lead 4-2 over the St Louis Cardinals. It also made Napoli just the second player in baseball history to have 4 multiple RBI games in a single Fall Classic. The other was Mickey Mantle in 1960.
When St Louis Cardinal’s manager Tony LaRussa called upon pinch-hitter Allen Craig after yanking Carpenter in the sixth inning, Craig came through.
LAS VEGAS, NV. – English car racer and two time Indy 500 winner, Dan Wheldon, was tragically killed today after a fiery crash involving 15 cars early in the IZOD IndyCar World Championships at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Dan Wheldon June 22, 1978 – October 16, 2011
The accident resulted in a 15 car crash on lap 13 where Wheldon was critically injured and later passed away at the University Medical Center in Las Vegas.
Tiger Woods has just landed a huge 5-year endorsement deal with Rolex, the world’s biggest luxury watchmaker, his first major sponsorship since his infidelity scandal broke two years ago.

Oakland Raiders owner, Al Davis, known for his rebellious nature and famous catch phrase “Just win, baby!,” died Saturday, Oct 8, at the age of 82.

It looks like Tiger Woods may be back. Woods broke the course record on Friday, Sept.30, at The Medalist, a Greg Norman design in Florida, shooting a 62 beating the previous record by two shots. He did it by posting a back-nine 29 that included 7 birdies.
