Sanders, who is scheduled to speak on Saturday, August 24, at 8:30 a.m., is a former NFL and MLB player who currently works as an NFL Network analyst. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on August 6, 2011. Nicknamed ‘Prime Time’ and ‘Neon Deion’, he played football primarily as cornerback, but also as a kick returner, punt returner and occasionally as a running back or wide receiver. Chuck Muncie, former Saints & Chargers running back, died of a heart attack at 60 on May 14, 2013.

Muncie was selected to the Pro Bowl three times (1979, 1981, 1982) and tied the then-NFL season record for rushing touchdowns in 1981. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, Muncie was considered by many as one of the best running backs in the game until cocaine problems forced him into retirement. In 1989, he was sentenced to 18 months in prison for selling cocaine, where he turned his life around and helped others through mentoring programs.

Muncie founded the Chuck Muncie Youth Foundation, a nonprofit established in 1997 and based in Oxnard, California. The foundation has helped countless youngsters avoid the bad decisions providing Southern California youth with alternatives to the street. His foundation offers youth mentoring, tattoo removal, kids camp, school assistance, job training and an array of other programs.

Muncie, who spent much of his time at his Bay Area home in Emeryville, also spearheaded a mentoring program for athletes at his alma mater.

“Whenever we call, he makes himself available,” says Dr. Bill Coysh, director of sports medicine for the Cal athletic department. “That’s what’s incredible about him. This is not a paid position. He does it because that’s how he is.”

Testaverde holds the NFL record for having thrown a touchdown pass in 21 consecutive seasons. In addition, he holds the NFL record for throwing touchdown passes to 70 different players.
