Kevin Skinner on America's Got Talent Semi Finals

Kevin Skinner competed in last night’s Semi Finals of America’s Got Talent, dedicating Willie Nelson’s version of Always on My Mind to his father.

Kevin Skinner is the type of story Americas loves. A natural born singer, a chicken catcher, who finds himself in front of millions singing from the heart with a chance to win $1M dollars and to headline Las Vegas.

Every song Kevin sings is heartfelt and emotional, completely raw and sung from the soul.

After Kevin’s performance, Piers Morgan gave Kevin a standing ovation.

Piers said. “You have an ability to move an audience in a way I have never seen on this show before. Barbara Padilla America's Got Talent

Barbara Padilla, a housewife and 10 year cancer survivor, is living her dream.

During week 10 of America’s Got Talent, Barbara sings Time To Say Goodbye a duet made famous by Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman.

Barbara’s performance was beautiful and professional, wowing not only the judges but the viewing audience as well.

When the performance was over, the judges gave Barbara a standing ovation!

Danyl Johnson X Factor Audition

Danyl Johnson, a 27 year old school teacher from Reading, England was the best singer from Episode 1  of  Britain’s The X Factor.  Do we already have the next X Factor winner?

According to the judges reaction to Danyl Johnson’s audition, it might be a done deal. With his incredible good looks and amazing talent, Danyl definitely could have the female vote!

Danyl Johnson sang for his auditon the Beatles classic, I Get High with A Little Help From My Friends.

It was a stellar perfomance, causing every single judge to give Johnson a standing ovation.

America’s Got Talent, Lawrence Beamen (Beaman) showed a softer side to his singing voice when he sang the sultry “You Are So Beautiful”

I am a big fan of Lawrence and I have said in my previous post that he has the best voice on the show. However, this song choice in my opinion did not match the power of his first audition when he sang “Ol Man River”

It is all about song choice, so Lawrence in my opinion needs to pick a better song to show his range and power.

I’d like to hear him sing “A Change is Gonna  Come” or “A Song for You” by Donny Hathaway.

The judges all loved his performance and gave him rave reviews.

Sharon said that it was smooth as velvet.

The Hoff said he felt sorry for the rest of the competition.

Piers said that of all the singers that have auditioned on the show he is a rare talent calling him the new Barry White.

Michael Irvin Joins DWTS

Dancing With the Stars just announced their new Season 9 cast and it looks like Michael Irvin, former Dallas Cowboys WR, is going to be following in the footsteps of NFL greats Jerry Rice, Emmitt Smith, Jason Taylor and Warren Sapp.

The NFL players always seem to do well on DWTS. Because of their great athletic ability and popularity, many of the pro football players either go all the way to the finals or like Emmitt Smith – win.

Other Cast members to join DWTS are:

Singers Mya, Macy Gray and Aaron Carter; actors Ashley Hamilton, Melissa Joan Hart and Debi Mazar; and models Joanna Krupa and Kathy Ireland.

Other contestants also include reality stars Mark Dacascos and Kelly Osbourne; entertainer Donny Osmond; mixed martial artist Chuck Liddell; professional snowboarder Louie Vito; and  Olympic swimmer Natalie Coughlin.

Representing the  political arena is former Republican Majority Leader Tom DeLay.

The ninth season of the hit ABC show premieres Sept. 21.

8/11/2009 – Paradizo (Paradiso) Dance, from Brooklyn New York, performed Tuesday night with the hopes of moving into the Semi Finale, Top 20. Not only are they amazing and beautiful to watch but they are genuinely in love.

I think they could easily have a shot at winning the entire competition this year.

Drew Thomas Magic may be the best magic act to ever appear on America’s Got Talent. Each time I have seen Drew Thomas Magic on America’s Got talent I’ve been impressed. Both times I was amazed and could not figure out how they  did it. They are totally entertaining and could have a shot at winning the competition this year.

Lawrence Beamen

Lawrence Beaman makes his first appearance on America’s Got Talent 2009 singing Ol’ Man River from the musical Showboat. Lawrence has a bass solo voice which we do not hear too often. The quality of his voice and his passionate perfomance are amazing. Lawrence is a true talent.

“Ol’ Man River” is a song from the 1927 musical Show Boat written by Jerome Kerns and Oscar Hammerstein II, that contrasts African American hardship and struggles of the time with the endless, uncaring flow of the Mississippi River, from the view of a dock worker on a showboat.

It is the most famous song from the show. It is sung complete, once, by the dock worker “Joe” who travels with the boat, and is re-sung three times more in brief reprises.

Lawrence Beamen (Beaman) could very easily win the entire competition.  He is by far the best singer in the competiton. He has the professionalism, charisma and the talent to carry a complete Las Vegas show.

Voices of Glory, Americas Got Talent sensational new act, sang an inspirational version of “God Bless America” acapella reducing Sharon Osborne and many of the audience to tears.

Americas Got Talent is America’s version of Simon Cowell’s popular Britains Got Talent. Last night we may have just witnessed one of the acts, Voices of Glory, that could be heading to the finals. The act is comprised of two brothers ages 16 and 13 and one sister age 9. When asked who their inspiration was they told the story about their mother who was in a head on collision with a drunk driver which rendered their mom in a coma. They sang to their mother and others in the hospital and today the mother is alive and well as witnessed on stage.
