Hampton was one of the most dominating defensive players of his generation. A first-round pick by the Chicago Bears in 1979 after an All-America career at Arizona, Hampton went onto play 12 seasons for the Bears, earning first or second-team All-Pro honors six times as either a lineman or end.

Hampton started the first 48 games of his career and established himself as a dominant pass rusher, recording 25 sacks during his first three seasons. Overall, he played in 157 regular season games, starting 152 of them. He is one of only two Bears to play in three decades and finished his career ranked third on the Bears all-time career sacks list with 82. He was named to the NFL Team of the 1980s by the Pro Football Hall of Fame Board of Selectors and was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame in 2002.

Hampton was a member of the much-heralded and colorful 1985 team, which is considered one of the greatest teams in NFL history. The Bears finished the season with a 15-1 record and won Super Bowl XX. Hampton’s teammates included Mike Singletary, Richard Dent, Jim McMahon and coach Mike Ditka.

After retiring, Hampton got involved in broadcasting. Hampton was an analyst for NFL games on NBC in the early 1990s and called XFL games for the network in 2001. He also hosted Bears pre-and post-game shows on WGN Radio. He currently serves as a co-host for the syndicated Pro Football Weekly television show, which is approaching its 20th season. He also hosts a radio show on WSCR 670 The Score.

Additionally, Hampton stays busy making personal appearances and is a popular sports motivational speaker for non-profits, corporations and assorted organizations. He also serves as a spokesperson for such companies as the Illinois Back Institute. He lives in the Chicago area.

Hampton spent his entire 12-year career with Chicago and is one of three Bears to play in three different decades. He was a four-time Pro Bowler and was named to the 1980’s All Decade Team. He finished his career ranked third all-time on the Bears for sacks and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1982.19

Drew Pearson is a top motivational sports speaker who delivers

Pearson, signed by the Cowboys as a free agent out of Tulsa in 1973, became one of the most dominating wide receivers of his era and, along with Hall of Famer Roger Staubach, helped lead the Cowboys to three Super Bowl appearances and a victory in Super Bowl XII in 1978. He was a three-time All Pro, All-NFL in 1975 and second team All-NFC in 1978. Pearson led the NFC in pass receptions with 58 in 1976 and was the Cowboys’ offensive captain in 1977, 1978, 1982 and 1983.
