Update: Jamie Archer was voted off last night after being in the bottom two with Lloyd Daniels. The judges sent it over for the viewers to decide and since Jamie had the fewest viewer votes, it was his turn to depart.
Jamie Archer sings the live Aid rock anthem Radio Gaga during Queen Week on X factor – Live Show 6. I think Jamie is great, but he is not loved by all the judges. The judges, other than Simon, were way too critical. The audience, who matter, went wild for Jamie.

Jamie was going to sing Unchained Melody for this week’s movie theme, but Simon changed the song at the last minute. Instead Jamie sings the Roy Orbison classic, “Crying”. A Spanish version of “Crying” called “Llorando” is featured in the movie Mulholland Drive. The song also closes a little known cult movie called Gummo.
WOW! He is a star!
Judges comments:
Louis: Great performance. Simon, but I don’t know the movie. I think you are cheating.
Dannii: It was an emotional performance. It was heartfelt.
Cheryl: I think Simon did you well by changing the song. That was beautiful.
Simon: This is all about you. It was your best performance by a mile.
Jamie sings ‘Angel of Harlem’ by U2. Simon changed Jamie’s song 24 hours before the perfomance. Louis criticizes him for not singing a big band song and blames Simon. Judges didn’t like it that much, but I disagree. I think he rocks!

Jamie (Afro) Archer sings Christina Aguilera’s Hurt during X Factor Diva’s week Live Show 2. In my opinion, Jamie is by far the most talented and seasoned contestant this year. To me he is already a star and should be the winner. However, I don’t think he is as popular as Joesph McElderry, Danyl Johnson or Oily Murs.

Jamie Archer's rendition of Sex on Fire called best performance of the day
Jamie Archer, 33, know as Jamie Afro, because of his massive curls, auditions on Britain’s X Factor Episode 2. Jamie, who sang Sex On Fire by Kings of Leon, had Simon Cowell grinning from ear to ear and was actually singing along at one point.
Jamie has always been a perfomer but has never been able to break into the business until possibly now.
Simon asked him why he has never made it in the business. Jamie said that he was a musician, not a business man, and did not understand the business side.
Here are some of the judges comments:
Cheryl: Natural born entertainer
Danni: Thank you for coming to the auditions. That was brilliant
Louie: I think you’re great. You stand out in a crowd
Simon Cowell said, “You’re fearless and you know how to perform, you got this lot on your side in 10 seconds”
At the end of the video Simon said, “Just a great, great performer”
