Each contestant performed three times. Stacey Solomon sang a duet with Michael Buble’ - Feeling Good, Joe McElderry sang a duet with George Michael – Don’t Let The Sun Go Down and Olly Murs sang a duet  with Robbie Williams – Angels. The contestants each repeated the songs from their first audition and their favorite songs of the series in an attempt to get through to tomorrow’s show.

Olly Murs Sings We Can Work It Out on  X Factor – Semi Finals

Judges comments:

Louis: “Olly, that was another great performance. You’re consistent every week and you have the likeability factor. I liked that you didn’t pick a very well known song, but you made it your own. You remind me a bit of Jay Kay from Jamiroquai with the silly dancing, but it was really good. Are you going to make it into the final? I don’t know.”

Dannii: “You’re always a good performer. I’m not sure that song showed the best of your vocal ability. The dancing was spectacular. But you know what, if I was at home now sitting next to the phone I’d pick it up and vote for you.”

Cheryl: “I’ve always loved you, you’re an entertainer. I could hear you making that type of record, that style of music. I hope people pick up the phone and vote for you.”

Simon: “This takes me back, because it’s Stevie Wonder, to the very first time we saw you and what we liked so much about you. You’re the guy next door who dreamt about being a popstar and I think, taking everything into account over the last couple of weeks, that you thoroughly, thoroughly deserve your place in the final, and I think you’ll be there.”

Olly Murs sings Can You Feel It on X factor – Semi Finals

Judges comments:

Louis: “Olly, who would have thought you’d be in the semi-final, the guy from Essex. Everyone loves you, you’re talented, you can sing, you can dance, you’re an all-round entertainer. You’re one step away from the final and people need to vote for Olly because he deserves to be in the final.”

Danni:
“Can we feel it? We can all feel it in the room tonight. That was fantastic. Not only do you have the whole package, because we’ve seen you perform every week, but you were grabbing the package! If you pull out two performances like that you have to be in the final.”

Cheryl: “The sound in here when you were performing was deafening. It says it all. Everyone loves you, you’re an entertainer, and I hope to see you in the final.”

Simon: “What I liked about that was you should have been a bag of nerves, because I know how nervous you were yesterday and how much this means to you, but you put all that to one side and put on a great show. You sang really well, you look like a star, you have the presence of a star and I agree with the others – I just cannot imagine you not being there next week.”

Olly Murs sings Saturday Night’s Alright by Elton John – X Factor – Live Show 8 – Round 2

Judges comments:

Louis: “Olly, I loved you in round one, thought it was one of your best performances. It was an unusual song choice for you. I like your funny dancing, I like you, but there was something missing.”

Dannii: “Scrooge, move over. Round one was OK, round two was an absolute knockout. I’m really happy the grandpa suit’s gone, but you’ve got a sparkle in your eye. The song was absolutely made for you and very technically difficult – but it was absolutely a smash.”

Cheryl: “Firstly, I don’t know how you can concentrate with all those sexy girls around you, but you did it and you did it really well. I definitely agree with Dannii, that was a knockout performance.”

Simon: “Olly, it was the Olly we really loved from the beginning back in the competition. It was a great song, a great performance, and you really added something tonight – an extra 10, 15, 20%. You put your heart into it and made it sound like the song was written for you. I was nervous about this song today but I’m very, very happy.”

Olly Mur sings Love Ain’t Here Anymore on The X Factor – Live Show 8 – Round 1

Judges comments:

Louis: “Olly, I still can’t believe you were in the bottom two. There’s no way you deserved to be in the bottom two. Everywhere I go girls are telling me how much they like you. I’m glad you’ve got your confidence back and that song totally suited you. It is a talent competition and I think you deserve to be in the final three.”

Dannii:
“It’s kind of getting back on your horse after being in the bottom two and starting with a ballad, which is not your thing. I admire you for getting up there. But the sparkle was not quite in the eyes.”

Cheryl: “It’s really lovely to see everything stripped away and hear you sing. Sometimes I can’t hear you because these lot are going nuts, but I’m looking forward to seeing round two and seeing you back in your stride again.”

Simon: “I’d like to start with the girl you were singing to. I think she’s cute! I thought you did a great job tonight. You sung the song well, you emoted the song very well. I don’t think it was a song where it was appropriate to have a sparkle in your eye. I think it was about believing in it. And what happened last week, there was no sulking, no complaining, you just got on with it and proved why you should be here.”

Olly Murs sings Fast Love during George Michael week on X Factor – Live Show 7. He does a good job as usual and the audience loves him. Olly is too popular and should be safe this week.

Judges comments:

Dannii – “Olly Olly Olly. Essex must be going mad for you tonight. You are really polished now – you know how to rock the audience, it’s a hard song to sing.”
Louis
– “Loved everything about your performance and you have the potential to be new pop star in UK. Robbie, Gary, Will Young – you’re a natural mover, there’s nothing fake about you and everywhere I go girls say ‘Is Olly single?’ You’ve got the potential to win.”
Cheryl – “The best thing about you- you’ve got really broad appeal. Lads think you are cool, girls love you. You just are, no fuss about you – head down, job done, I really like you and I wish you all the best”
Simon – “You are going to have no problems with the chicks when you leave. What I liked about that is that you are turning onto a really good fearless performer, you didn’t just sing, you did that difficult dance break which made it different from original. It was a huge improvement.”

Olly Murs Auditions on The X Factor singing Stevie Wonder's Superstition

The last performer of last night’s X Factor was 25 year old Olly Murs, an office worker from Essex. The audience and judges went wild for Olly. Simon was grinning from ear to ear throughout the whole performance.

Judges comments:

Cheryl: Wow! Very impressive. Loved the moves. I loved everything about it. I think you’re a natural born entertainer.

Danni: You have the whole package. You’re a super, superstar.

Louie: You’re a natural performer

Simon: Olly, I gotta really tell you. I really, really like you. And you know what? You’re very, very, very cool. This is the easiest yes I’ve ever given.
