John Elway Speaks About Bronco’s Quarterback Tim Tebow

In a recent interview with FanHouse on behalf of Topps’ Gridiron Giveaway, legendary Hall of Fame quarterback, John Elway, spoke about the Denver Broncos and new quarterback, Tim Tebow. John Elway is a popular speaker at PFP Sports and Celebrity Talent Agency in Denver.

One of the many questions asked John Elway by FanHouse was:

FH: There’s been a lot made about Tebow’s ability to make that adjustment to the NFL, and there’s the ongoing argument about whether his intangibles can make up for his mechanical flaws. As a former quarterback, can a guy with those intangibles overcome physical inconsistencies?

JE: There’s no style points in the NFL, it’s all about winning football games. He’s got the ability with his intangibles to make the plays at the right time. Again, I go back to his work ethic. It’s just a matter of him continuing to grow. His accuracy’s got to get better and his acclimation to the NFL game is going to take some time. I believe he’s got a good chance to be very successful, because he has those attributes.

He’s not going to be the Dan Marino type that’s going to sit in the pocket and beat you with his arm. He can beat you with his arm — he’s also got those other attributes to be able to run the football, make the big plays, but also his leadership abilities to rub off on the other guys in that huddle and make them a better football team.

It just goes to show that in today’s world, it doesn’t matter where you say it or in what context, if you’re a celebrity and you say something controversial, it’s eventually going to make its way into the national news.

Sayers was the keynote speaker on May 4 at a Boys Town fundraising event in Omaha, Nebraska, a deal arranged for him by PFP Sports & Celebrity Talent. Jerry Rice, Emmitt Smith, Floyd Little Inducted Into NFL Hall of Fame

The NFL announced the 2010 Pro Football Hall of Fame inductees last weekend and, as always, a couple of names drew the most attention. Jerry Rice and Emmitt Smith, two of the greatest players of all-time, headline the list of inductees along with Floyd Little, Dick LeBeau, Russ Grimm, Rickey Jackson and John Randle.

I’m especially happy for Floyd Little, who was up until this weekend the most deserving running back not in the Hall of Fame. Little was the first running back to win a NFL rushing title on a last-place team. He earned five Pro Bowl berths and was a versatile all-purpose player with more than 12,000 yards.

I actually have a personal connection to Little. He was the first professional athlete I ever met. He lived next door to my uncle, and one year when my family came out to Denver to go skiing, my uncle took me next door to meet him. This was during the peak of his career and he was larger-than-life to a 10 year old. I remember holding his trophies and getting his autograph. He’s an extremely nice man…. ... Read More
