St. Louis Cardinals Beat Texas Rangers 6-2 in Game 7 to Win 2011 World Series (VIDEO)

ST LOUIS, MO – It was a great ending for the the St. Louis Cardinals who beat the Texas Rangers 6-2 in game 7 to win the 2011 World Series baseball championship in St. Louis on Friday Oct. 28. Fans were elated when Cardinals third baseman, David Freese, was named Most Valuable Player (MVP). Freese batted .348 with five extra-base hits in the Series and set an MLB record with 21 RBIs in the postseason.

“To win it is an incredible feeling,” Freese said. “I’m just full of joy.”

Manager Tony La Russa, who has has taken MLB teams to the postseason 14 times and is one of only two managers to win the World Series in both leagues said, “It’s truly a dream come true. It’s hard to imagine it actually happened.”
