Do People Listen When Gale Sayers Speaks? Obviously So

Chicago Bears Hall of Famer Gale Sayers has been in the news recently for making critical comments about the current state of the Chicago Bears. It just goes to show that in today’s world, it doesn’t matter where you say it or in what context, if you’re a celebrity and you say something controversial, it’s eventually going to make its way into the national news.

Sayers was the keynote speaker on May 4 at a Boys Town fundraising event in Omaha, Nebraska, a deal arranged for him by PFP Sports & Celebrity Talent. Sayers was asked an innocent enough question about the Bears and his response created headlines around the country. Chi Chi Rodriguez and His Wife are Robbed at Gunpoint Inside His Home in Puerto Rico

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – Police reported that legendary golfer, Chi Chi Rodriguez, was robbed inside his home Wednesday by three assailants who stole cash and jewelry worth $500,000. Rodriguez says he’s doing just fine after being robbed at gunpoint in his home in Puerto Rico this morning.

TMZ just spoke with the 74-year-old golf legend, who told them four men broke into his place at 1:30 this morning, while he and his wife were sleeping. Chi Chi says one of the men tied up a security guard, while three other men rushed inside the home.

Chi Chi says one of the men had a pistol, the other guys were carrying zip ties and duct tape and immediately tied up the couple, though he notes they were “gentle and very respectful of my wife.” ... Read More

Tim Tebow Says He Has Turned Down 7 Figure Endorsement Deals

Ever since Tim Tebow was drafted in last month’s NFL draft by the Denver Broncos, he has become one of the Bronco’s most marketable players since John Elway. Tim Tebow says he feels  future endorsement deals could be a distraction from football.

Oakland Athletics Dallas Braden Pitches Perfect Game – Video

OAKLAND, CA – Dallas Braden, the 26 year old left handed pitcher for The Oakland Athletics, pitched a perfect game beating the Tampa Bay Rays 4-0. Braden made this the 19th perfect game in MLB, making him the second person in less than a year to accomplish this feat.

After the game, Braden hugged his grandmother Peggy Lindsey, who raised him after his mother died of skin cancer eight years ago when he was a senior in high school. It was an emotional moment and a fitting Mother’s Day gift for Braden’s grandmother. When Lindsey met with reporters after the game, she said, “Stick it, A-Rod!” ... Read More

Lawrence Taylor Arrested for Alleged Rape of 16 Yr Old Girl

SUFFERN, N.Y – Lawrence Taylor, former NFL linebacker, was arrested this morning for allegedly raping and beating a 16 year-old girl. According to CBS News, Taylor, 51, was taken into custody by the Town of Ramapo police after being accused of raping someone in the Holiday Inn Holidome Hotel in Suffern.

The story is still developing and details surrounding the rape have not yet been released other than the location and that it occurred early this morning. Charges against the Hall of Fame linebacker will be filed once police complete their investigation. ... Read More

Nick Rogers, Former NFL Linebacker, Killed in Car Accident

COLLEGE PARK, GA – The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Former Georgia Tech star, Nick Rogers, who was an NFL linebacker from 2002-05, died in a car crash early Monday morning.

The newspaper reports that Rogers, 30, was killed in a single-vehicle wreck in College Park about 1:30 a.m. Monday morning. According to the Fulton County medical examiner, Rogers’ vehicle left the road and struck a power pole. ... Read More
