George Brett Named Keynote Speaker at Meet the Tigers Baseball Banquet in Memphis

MEMPHIS, TN. — Baseball Hall of Famer, George Brett, will be the keynote speaker at the annual Meet the Tigers Baseball Banquet scheduled on Jan. 17, 2014 at the on-campus Holiday Inn, located at 3700 Central Ave in Memphis, TN. Tiger baseball coach, Daron Schoenrock, told the media that University of Memphis interim president Brad Martin’s friendship with Brett was a key factor in securing Brett’s appearance at the banquet.

Tommy John Named Guest Speaker at ‘Roadrunner Baseball Hot Stove Dinner’

Retired MLB pitcher, Tommy John, has been named the guest speaker at the inaugural ‘Roadrunner Baseball Hot Stove Dinner’ scheduled on Saturday, Feb. 8 at the Kern County Fairgrounds. The event, presented by Motor City Auto Center, features special guest speaker Tommy John, former Major League Baseball player for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

APPLETON, WI. — University of Wisconson athletic director, Barry Alvarez, was the keynote speaker on Tuesday, Dec 3, at Fox Valley Technical Institute in Appleton. Alvarez, 66, spoke about his first-year coach Gary Andersen, the upcoming BCS Championship Game, his role on the new College Football Playoff Committee, Russell Wilson and his future at Wisconsin.

Gaylord Perry Named Keynote Speaker at Oral Roberts University Diamond Dinner

TULSA OK. — Former MLB pitcher, Gaylord Perry, is scheduled to be the keynote speaker on Friday, Jan. 31, at Oral Roberts University’s annual Diamond Dinner. The event will take place at the Marriott Southern Hills, located at 1902 East 71st Street S. in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A silent auction will begin at 6 pm, with dinner and the evening’s program beginning at 6:30.

David Thompson Named Keynote Speaker at Community Boys & Girls Club in N.C.

WILMINGTON, N.C. — Former NC State basketball legend and NBA star, David Thompson, was the keynote speaker on November 21, at the annual dinner fundraiser for the Community Boys & Girls Club in Wilmington, N.C. Before the actual event took place, Thompson held a news conference where he spoke about the issues of gang violence in the New Hanover County area and the specific need for after-school programs and a safe place for youth. Thompson continued speaking about gang violence during his keynote speech.

Herschel Walker Speaks to Wounded Warriors and Airmen at San Antonio Air Force Base

SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas — Former NFL running back and Heisman Trophy winner, Herschel Walker, visited Airmen and wounded warriors on October 23 at the Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center at the Joint Base San Antinio-Lackland, Texas (AFNS). Walker spoke to more than 200 Airmen about his life as a boy, leading up to his college and NFL days. He also discussed the challenges he faced with Dissociative Identity Disorder, or DID, more commonly known as multiple personality disorder.
